The VIP-2MP is a compact, easy-to-use laboratory density meter, suitable for industrial quality control and for rapid product identification, suitable for standard test method for density of liquids according to ASTM D4052 and crude oils according to ASTM D5002.

The operating principle of the density meter based on measuring the oscillation frequency of U-tube density sensor filled with the sample liquid. The density value calculated by calibrating with two substances of the precisely known densities, such as, dry air and water.
