Inauguration of Artin Azma Chemical Industry’s Mercaptanization Catalyst Production Factory
By the grace of God and the efforts of the Artin Azma team, the mercaptanization catalyst reached the stage of domestic production. Artin Azma Chemical Industries was opened in Bushehr Special Economic Zone with the joint investment of Russian and Iranian partners. In the first stage, the production of demercaptanization catalyst was carried out under the license of IVKAZ, Russia, using local labor force.
Mercaptans, which are toxic and harmful substances found in hydrocarbon compounds extracted from oil and gas and hydrocarbon fields in the Persian Gulf. They must be refined in the first stages of refining. South Pars gas refineries and many refineries in the country need to use this catalyst, which until now mainly used products produced abroad.
Artin-Azma Chemical Industries after starting cooperation with IVKAZ and VINIUS in Russia as the owner of the technical license for the production of demercaptanization catalyst in the world and after obtaining the exclusive agent certificate in Iran. Now, as a catalyst manufacturer under technical and quality license, this company has started to produce mercaptanization catalyst with the highest competitive quality and also valuable economic conditions in Iran.
Catalyst production plant for demercaptanization in Bushehr special zone in June this year with the presence of Bushehr governor’s economic affairs coordination deputy Mr. Saeed Zarin Far and Mr. Hossein Namvar, the respected CEO of the special zone and a group of Bushehr province officials and industry and mining managers of the province and with the presence of capital Internal and external representatives of the project were opened.
The CEO of Artin Azma Company, as the country’s first demercaptanization refinery catalyst production unit in Bushehr, said: The nominal annual production capacity of this unit is 500 tons, and its production rate is realized according to the demand in the sales market. Seyed Amir Alavifar added: the country’s need for this type of catalyst is 50 tons per year, and the rest of the factory’s production should be exported abroad after identifying the target markets. About 40 people were directly and indirectly employed in this project.
Due to its special geographical conditions and huge potentials from the point of view of energy economy and oil industry, Bushehr province was placed as a suitable place for the industrial and production activities of Artin Azma chemical industries. Bushehr province is one of the important regions in the development of refinery and petrochemical industries and downstream industries, in this regard, in addition to the South Pars refinery, more than 18 petrochemical complexes have been launched and several other units are being completed and opened.
