CFPP Improver additive Brand DIXON
Dixon CFPP Improver is a chemical additive designed to enhance diesel fuel performance by lowering its cold filter plugging point (CFPP).
Dixon CFPP (Cold Filter Plugging Point) Improver
Overview:
Dixon CFPP Improver is a chemical additive designed to enhance diesel fuel performance by lowering its cold filter plugging point (CFPP). This ensures the fuel remains fluid and functional at lower temperatures, preventing fuel filter blockages.
Composition:
The active ingredients in CFPP improvers are typically blends of polymers engineered to reduce the crystallization of paraffins in diesel fuel. These polymers are commonly referred to as “depressing agents” or “pour point depressants.”
Dixon Diesel Cold Filter Plugging Point Improver
Product Description:
Dixon Additive is a diesel fuel cold filter plugging point and pour point improver that significantly enhances the fuel’s properties under low-temperature conditions.
Laboratory Results:
Laboratory tests demonstrated that Dixon Additive considerably reduces CFPP. For instance, in a test conducted with summer diesel fuel with an initial CFPP of -8°C, the addition of the additive at a 1:500 (volume) ratio lowered the CFPP to -29°C, a reduction of 21°C. The optimal dosage range for the additive is between 1:1500 and 1:500 (volume). The test conditions included a temperature of 22°C, 62% humidity, and atmospheric pressure of 100.6 kPa.
Storage and Handling
- Storage Recommendations:
Dixon Additive can be stored in sealed containers for extended periods. The recommended storage temperature range is -5°C to +40°C. If stored for long periods at low temperatures, the additive should be thoroughly mixed before use. - Usage Guidelines:
The recommended dosage is 1 liter of additive per 1000–1500 liters of fuel. The additive should be mixed with fuel at a temperature 10°C above the cloud point of the fuel.
Applications
This additive is widely used in winter diesel fuels but is also effective for a variety of fuel types, including:
- Intermediate Diesel Fuels: Narrow distillation range fuels with specific distillation temperature indices:
- DT (90–20%) between 70–100°C.
- DT (90% boiling point) between 17–25°C.
- Broad-Range Diesel Fuels:
- DT (90–20%) between 100–120°C with a final boiling point below 380°C (ASTM D86 method).
- Diesel Fuels with High Final Boiling Points:
- Final boiling points above 380°C.
Technical Specifications

Safety Considerations
- Avoid direct contact with skin.
- Always use protective gloves and a mask.
- During transport in tankers, the product is heated to 60°C. Contact with skin at this temperature can cause burns. If contact occurs, immediately wash the area with soap and water. In case of eye contact, flush thoroughly with water.
- Keep unused containers tightly closed. Avoid water contamination in the product.
- Store away from open flames and ignition sources. Do not smoke near containers. Empty containers may retain flammable vapors.
