Method Description

Method B of GOST R 54484 is used for the determination of methanol content in LPG samples.

The method is also applied for determining the component composition of LPG that does not contain unsaturated hydrocarbons, or in cases where the content of unsaturated hydrocarbons in the LPG composition is not regulated.

Methanol is determined by this method in the range from 0.001% to 0.01%.

When selecting a column, it should be taken into account that PLOT Q columns tend to produce significant peak tailing. Both high- and low-concentration peaks may show tailing, so in some cases it may be more practical to use a packed column with HayeSep Q (Porapak Q).

Calculation of the component composition, density, and saturated vapor pressure of liquefied gas is performed using the Chromatec Liquefied Gas software.
