Artin Azma specialized seminars at Tehran International Oil and Gas Exhibition 1401

In continuation of Artin Azma’s specialized seminars at Tehran International Oil and Gas Exhibition 1401, the representatives of LUMEX introduced the products of their company.
Measuring the amount of mercury in oil and chemical compounds is very important, because on the one hand, mercury compounds and mercury itself are very toxic, and this issue is very important in terms of environmental protection, and on the other hand, due to the technical reasons Mercury in petrochemical and polymerization can destroy the used catalysts, which sometimes have a high price, which can have high economic consequences. Also, the presence of mercury will cause corrosion in equipment, and this corrosion is important in precision and pressurized tools. Also, in gas processing, when gas condensation occurs, the presence of mercury causes the destruction of aluminum converters and causes harm. Therefore, the reasons and most of them, measuring mercury in crude oil and other compounds is of great importance, and LUMEX company has tried to provide the best services for measuring mercury in gas, liquid and solid samples by designing numerous and diverse devices.
He explained the features of the devices and pointed out:
The possibility of measuring solid, liquid and gas samples, embedding an online monitor to measure mercury in oil and natural gas, using fast and programmable software based on the model required by the user, designing devices to measure mercury in Air monitoring both online and portable, complying with the standards established by the European Union regarding air pollution, installing very accurate optical instruments to increase the accuracy of the devices, designing devices for measuring mercury with thermal isolation for samples that They have more complexities, such as crude oil and even food, designing devices that detect mercury without using chemical reagents, and this reduces costs and simplifying the work, designing devices that do not require the injection of a carrier gas, i.e. oxygen. It provides the possibility of experiments and this design has caused that the required oxygen is supplied from the air and due to not using an oxygen capsule, the dimensions of the device and the possibility of possible dangers due to the existence of the capsule have been reduced to a large amount, the possibility of automatic adjustment of the thermal profile according to The signals that are emitted from the sample itself means that if the amount of mercury in a sample is more than the permissible limit, the device will automatically stop heating in order to ensure the safety of the operator and not to impair the accuracy of the tests. Weight of the samples, minimum time of 2 minutes to receive the test results with the devices, the possibility of calibration by the software without the need to use special samples to calibrate, as well as stable calibration without the need to calibrate every time, no device error due to Testing the previous samples, because the gold trap method is not used in it, the accuracy of the devices is very high at ppb (0.73). Likewise, in air pollution measuring devices, it is also possible to identify mercury at a distance of 10 meters from the device, and designing devices to measure the amount of mercury in samples such as gasoline, which at higher temperatures, the reflected rays from them enter the ultraviolet range, are several examples of features devices designed and manufactured by LUMEX company.
At the end of the speech, the representative of LUMEX stated that it is possible for the company to design and manufacture special devices according to the needs of customers to measure mercury in gaseous, solid and liquid samples, and the applicants can submit these proposals to LUMEX through Artin Azma Mehr. send
The second specialized meeting of Artin Azma Mehr with the title of Catalyst and Chemicals Specialized Seminar was held on the sidelines of the 26th Tehran International Oil, Gas and Petrochemical Exhibition.
In this meeting, which was held with the presence of IVKAZ and SKATZ company representatives, the catalysts used in the oil and gas industry were introduced.
At the beginning of this ceremony, Dr. Asliamov, the representative of IVKAZ company, while introducing the products of IVKAZ company, said: In recent years, the production volume of hydrocarbons and gas condensates has increased significantly. Meanwhile, mercaptans, which are sulfur-containing compounds connected to hydrocarbon chains, are very important for being toxic and causing corrosion in devices, and should be removed using different methods and catalysts. Of course, a very small amount of these materials are added to the materials to maintain safety and to inform about pipeline leaks.
He said, in any case, the presence of mercaptans in transmission or storage equipment that spend more time in contact with fluids is important, and the leakage of these substances can cause many environmental risks. For this purpose, the international standards of C1 and C2 hydrocarbons have been emphasized in the amount of 10 ppm and finally 200 ppm. On the other hand, providing economic solutions to solve this problem is also important.
He added that the amount of sulfur compounds in crude oil depends on the method of extraction and the source of extraction. And therefore, the first task in the refining process is to remove light mercaptans and sulfur compounds from crude oil to reach the mentioned standards.
He continued that C1 and C2 mercaptans are very toxic and create a very unpleasant smell and cause many logistical and environmental problems during transportation processes. And they also cause a lot of corrosion in tanks. And on the other hand, due to being soluble in water, they easily enter the waste water of factories in water purification processes. Also, the presence of mercaptans causes the formation of carbon deposits in catalysts, and this problem is more common especially at high temperatures. Likewise, these compounds decompose at temperatures of 220 to 250 degrees Celsius due to their high fluidity and cause carbonization in the catalytic bed.
He pointed out that the most reliable method to remove mercaptans is the oxidation of these compounds in the liquid phase. This process called DMC has been used in Russia for twenty years and has been developed based on the oxidation of mercaptans for different feeds. It should also be said that in all DMC methods, very few side materials and a very small amount of catalyst are used. And in general, it can be said that ifkaz catalyst is widely used in the following three areas:
A- Purification of alkaline cuttings, such as gas condensate and oil, from disturbances
B- Full purification of direct cut gasoline with catalytic processes
C- Purification of sour gases and gas condensates
In the following, he introduced more detailed processes of DMD-1, DMD-2, DMD-3, SEROX-W, DMC-1, DMC-2, DMC-3, DMC-4, DMC-1MA and DMD-2M and said:
• DMC-1 method: the amount of H2S is reduced to about 0 to 2 ppm, and mercaptan C2 is reduced by about 40%, and mercaptan C3 and C4 are reduced by about 80%, and the amount of catalyst used in this method is about 5,000 grams of bernet, which is compared to The method in which caustic is used in the amount of 50 grams per ton is much more economical.
Also, this method is more suitable for crude oil and light gas in which the DMC method is not very effective, as these light compounds are first converted into binary compounds or disulfide, and it is worth mentioning that air is used for the oxidation of mercaptans in this method. method is used.
• DMC-2 method: This method is used when there is no desire to mix feed with air for any reason. In this way, the extraction of mercaptans and sulfur compounds is done by an aqueous soda solution, and then the used soda is regenerated by the IVKAZ catalyst.
• DMC-3 method: This method was developed for when the input feed has a larger and heavier volume of mercaptans. It should be noted that this method is currently used daily in South Pars.
• DMC-4 method: This method is used for stronger feeds such as heavy oil.
• DMC-1MA method: It is used to purify mercaptans and hydrogen disulfide and reduces mercaptans from 500 to 5 ppm.
• DMD-2M method: This method is used to purify gases and very light hydrocarbons and gases that must first be converted into liquid. And the advantage of this method is to eliminate toxic compounds without producing waste water and environmental pollutants. In the same way, it is economically superior to Merax and Sulforex methods.
• DMD-1 method: It is used to purify zoline slices at a temperature between 180 and 220 degrees. Because diesel fuel cannot be refined in other processes. In this method, gasoline, diesel and similar hydrocarbons are purified. In this method, Ifkaz integrated catalyst is used, which is based on isocyanine, that is, the catalyst is used in addition to active carbon in a fixed bed.
• DMD-2 method: It is used to purify condensate from C1 to C4. The mercaptan output in this method is sold as a separate fragrance product.
• DMD-3 method: It is used to purify direct cuts of zeolin with a boiling temperature of 60 to 180, which are known as catalytic breaking processes, and light and heavy molecules are purified and removed. In this method, soda and catalyst are used. In this process, mercaptans are converted to disulfide in air and reduced to 5 ppm. This method is used in Khark Island in Iran.
• SEROX-W method: This method is used to treat alkaline effluents containing sulfur, and by performing oxidation up to 99.9%, it can completely purify the effluent from pollutants such as hydrogen disulfide, mercaptans, alkaline disulfides, sodium sulfide. and alkaline sulfates.
