The development project of Shiraz Refinery aims to enhance product quality and diversify its output slate. As part of this project, the naphtha isomerization unit was redesigned to produce Euro 5–compliant gasoline.
The project was executed by Jondi Shapour Company as the project contractor. The unit license was upgraded from the third-generation UOP Penex process to a fifth-generation sulfated zirconia catalyst technology.
The scope of work also included the supply of isomerization catalysts, as well as engineering technical services covering catalyst loading and unit commissioning.
